Assessment

Assessments are important part of the teaching and learning process at Fredericksburg City Public Schools. Formative, summative, standardized, performance-based, state-mandated, and teacher-choice tests all provide information about specific learning targets with the purpose of furthering student performance. The Department of Teaching and Learning ensures full compliance with federal, state, and local testing expectations while providing necessary feedback for improvement of instruction.

Assessment scores are sent home to all families. Cover letters, when available, provide more information about the tests and what the scores mean. QR codes on cover letters connect families with translated versions of the cover letters.
